The gearbox can be re-shimmed if necessary, but it doesn't have to be.

This can be done together with the installation of a new ETU, GATE, etc.

The protruding axes of the G&G gears were sanded down a bit, as they often protrude quite far from the bearings.

The gears for the fire selector lever were also smoothed, as was the curved G2 selector plate, as this sits very tightly in the housing as standard.
